"Home staging boosts your home's selling price"
More experienced stagers may charge more per hour but they may also work faster and more efficiently. It is not just the hourly fee that determines how much a home staging project will cost. Home staging can cost as little as few hundred and as much as a few thousand dollars. The average staged home lies somewhere between these two extremes.
Don't just look at the hourly rates...
If your home is listed but is not selling and your Realtor has suggested lowering the asking price, give staging a chance to better the look of it before you decide to drop the price. Having your home staged should increase the price you will get for it.
After your home has been staged it is wise to have your agent come back to reevaluate your home. Sometimes they decide to keep the price the same and not lower it but very often raise it up by few thousand dollars. This depends on how many improvements and changes have been made in the overall look. By simply rearranging the furniture, cleaning up the space and improving the space flow the house becomes more attractive and will probably sell for a higher price. The Realtor also benefits with possible higher commission when the house sells for more money. This is why some Realtors suggest the idea of staging homes to their clients.

Some Realtors will pay for the initial consultation as part of their package and the homeowner will pay for the additional hourly fees. Others may reimburse you for a portion of it once your home sells and they have collected their commision. However, don't base your decision purely on whether a Realtor works with home stagers when looking for one. You should hire someone with experience and credentials, one that will benefit you entirely in the speedy sale of your home.
Other Realtors are hesitant on recommending home stagers to their clients. They think that their client may get offended with the suggestion and they don't want to jeopardize the relationship.
